Potential customers cannot find information about the business, and one of the main forms of <a href=\"https:\/\/web-mate.gr\/en\/best-advertising-for-an-eshop\/\">online advertising <\/a> is lost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Website visitors without a presence on Google<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/web-mate.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/traffic.jpg\" alt=\"- Web-Mate\" class=\"wp-image-1531\" title=\"- Web-Mate\"><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Of course, a website that does not &#8220;exist&#8221; in search engines will not necessarily get no traffic at all, as its visitors may come through Meta ads or, more generally, ads on other websites. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But what does it mean when a website does not appear on Google, or only shows up on page 3, 4 or beyond? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It means that every day it misses the chance to attract potential customers and tell them about its offers and, more generally, about the products or services on its website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It means it could gain 60% more visitors without paying anything for them. Users who arrive from search engines without advertising are free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Some striking statistics on search and users<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to research by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.catalystdigital.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/WhySearchPlusSocialEqualsSuccess-Catalyst.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Forrester Consulting<\/a>, we can see that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>95% of users used at least one search engine channel to discover something<\/li><li> 94% of users used at least one search engine channel to buy something<\/li><li>and 93% of users used at least one search engine channel to engage with something<\/li><li>finally, to show how important search is for research, 90% of users have no specific brand in mind before they search.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Below is a chart from which we can draw more useful statistics: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/web-mate.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/image1-1.png\" alt=\"- Web-Mate\" class=\"wp-image-1532\" title=\"- Web-Mate\"><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In other words, a click in a search engine is more than a simple click: it is a step in the user&#8217;s journey towards the final purchase or action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The main factors and reasons why your site does not show up on Google<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The most common reasons your site does not show up on Google are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>It is new and has not been indexed yet<\/li><li>Search engines cannot access it because of a noindex tag<\/li><li>It is not optimised for search engines<\/li><li>You have very strong competitors and your website is many pages behind<\/li><li>You have a penalty from Google<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you have a new site, all you can do is wait until Google reads your website. What you can do is help it along by submitting your website to Google Search Console with a sitemap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your website may have a noindex tag, which stops search engines from accessing it. They should be terms related to your website that people are likely to use when they search on Google.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Use meta tags to add more keywords<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meta tags are hidden code: visitors to your website do not see them, but Googlebot, the search engine crawler that scans your website, will see and evaluate them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Find keywords that are not too competitive<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We suggest you use <a href=\"https:\/\/ads.google.com\/home\/tools\/keyword-planner\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Google&#8217;s free Keyword Planner<\/a> to work this out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> This keyword research tool lets you measure how popular specific search terms are, as well as how much competition you face when you use them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Look for backlinks<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A major factor for search engines is the quality of organic backlinks, that is, links from other sites to yours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> This is what search engines look for. If many websites link back to your site, Google gives your page more credibility and a higher search ranking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Create content related to your business<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Use articles or other material specific to the products and services you provide.
